SCOPE OF PROJECT:
Brand Identity - Campaign Launch

For the launch of Richa Khemka’s new collection ‘Composite’ and her grand debut at Lakmé Fashion Week, different parts came together to complete this picture, literally and figuratively. The collection was inspired by mosaic art, renaissance colours, and piecing together elements with a stroke of creativity.
Print Design

For the invitation to her LFW debut, we used fabric stitched onto paper, to give a tangible experience of her garments . Plates were sent out as a part of the PR – and ofcourse, they were designed as mosaic tiles, that were complete once they came together.
Art Direction
The fashion film which was played at the runway at Lakmé Fashion Week, highlighted mosaic as the inspiration behind the collection. With a completely white set for stark contrast, mosaic tiles were painted on the model and presented in a 30-second stop motion film.

The campaign video for CALLI embodied the fluidity of the writing in action, words flowing one after the other. Bringing out the strokes of a quill, the video highlighted the silhouettes that flow like ink, patterns and prints that make hushed whispers and passionate conversation everlasting, with brush and ink. Electric and dauntless, the campaign brought out the nuances of inscribed words, the drama behind shadows, and the wild dance of CALLI.

Social Media

To digitally promote CALLI, a grid of images, fast-paced videos, and breakers was curated that conveyed the essence of the collection. The strokes of a quill, translated effortlessly in fashion were displayed on social media with an aura of mystery and permanence of inked nibs. With a strong hint of calligraphy in the font and elements that resembled strokes and slashes of brushes, CALLI took over social media.

For ~fantasie~, a world of whimsy was recreated, one inspired by elements real and unreal – an almost glimpse into the mind of Tim Walker. Words, visuals, colours, sounds, movements – all came together on this journey towards a surreal land.

While the preference is to use images in their true form, untouched and free from frills, there are times we ‘Let our wildest dreams spring forth, spill across our imagination and cascade through our mind like a waterfall beneath the ocean.’ To bring out the feeling of a fantastical collection, the images were given an iridescent digital design.

For this Egypt inspired collection, the approach was that of subdued regality. The name FARAH was an interpretation of the word Pharaoh, while keeping the sun god Ra at its heart. Ancient royals once turned their heads to face the same sun that shines over us today. Their feet walked upon the same warm sands. At the shoot, the set chased the sun to capture its opulence glinting against the garments.

An extension of the sun-fueled identity of the collection, the grid was inspired from ever-changing desert landscapes.

The new brand identity of the label was translated into a website for her online store.

UMI – An Ode to the Ocean. This collection was inspired from creatures of the depths, reflected through Japanese art and culture. Our hand drawn illustrations recreated sea creatures and meticulously translated onto the garments.
Art Direction
There were a total of 3 shades used on the garments – black, white and red, with touches of gold. Similar shades were chosen for our setting, a nod to traditional Japanese art. Jupiter’s look was kept sharp and strong.

A poetry book, a post card, and hand-embroidered packaging – vintage charms further enhanced the already mystical and enigmatic nature of UMI. A true ode to the culture of the Japanese.
Social Media
For Richa’s RTW collection, also a part of UMI, we chose her closest friends to model garments that made for more than the runway. Real Friendships. Real Muses. Real Laughter.

Without revealing the outfits or the mosaic tiles, the teasers created a deep sense of mystery. Once the collection was launched through the film on social media, we created a feed with a mix of shoot images and pictures from Lakmé Fashion Week.
